Hayabeads

“Hayabeads” functional particles are used as cell gap spacers for LCD panels by a number of LCD manufacturers within Japan and overseas. Their use however is not limited to only LCD panels, they are being deployed in an ever-growing range of applications including various sensors which require detailed thickness control, touch panels, conductive spacer base materials, and more.

■ Suspension polymerization high precision classification products Monodispersed particles which are given a sharp particle size distribution through wet-classification of particles produced through suspension polymerization. Classification nearly completely removes large and fine particles which greatly differ from the average particle size.
  • Can be produced as uniform particles with an extremely sharp particle size distribution of Cv. value*2% to 5% at a range of 4 μm to 15 μm.
  • Because they are crosslinked acrylic particles, they possess extremely good heat resistance and almost no change in physical properties due to heat.
  • They also have excellent chemical resistance, making them insoluble in most solvents.
  • Extremely low impurity concentration of 1 ppm or less provides outstanding reliability.
  • Excellent dispersion in water and alcohol resulting in no secondary or tertiary clusters.
  • Extremely high crosslinked density provides the hardest as resin particles, which in turn gives the particles outstanding recovery properties. (L-11)
  • Average particle size can be adjusted in 0.05 μm increments.
  • Has no melting point, and carbonizes at temperatures of 400°C and over.

■ Seed polymerization high precision classification products Crosslinked particles which are given extremely sharp particle diameter distribution and uniform average particle diameter using seed polymerization technologies. Uniform particles can be produced with a variety of different characteristics by absorbing and polymerizing a variety of monomers with uniform seeds formed in solution. Our company has made it possible to design and produce particles with higher precision by combining the classification technologies we have cultivated over many years.
  • Can be produced as uniform particles with an extremely sharp particle size distribution of Cv. value 4% or lower at a range of 2 μm to 50 μm.
  • Particles with a variety of strengths, hardnesses, recovery properties, and other physical properties can be design through different combinations of monomers and production methods.
  • Combining with wet classification nearly completely removes large and fine particles.
  • Surface treatments can also be carried out to add color, adhesives, functional groups, and more.
